Homeschoolers

There are many ways for homeschool groups to experience Vermont history!

  • Homeschool families can visit the Vermont History Museum for free. Call the museum front desk at (802) 828-2291 for further details.
  • Homeschool groups can arrange a field trip to the museum. Guided tours and self-guided tours are free for homeschool groups. A number of hands-on workshops are also available at a small fee. Museum field trips must be scheduled in advance with a minimum of 10 participants required for guided tours and hands-on workshops. Go to www.vermonthistory.org/fieldtrips for more details.
  • Homeschoolers ages 10 to 18 are welcome to participate in Vermont History Day, a year -long education program that encourages students to delve into a topic, examine it thoroughly, and present historical research at a statewide competition.
