Old Documents, New Technology:
Using Interactive Whiteboards to Explore Primary Sources
A five-day workshop for teachers @ the Vermont History Center in Barre.

For the summer workshop, participants must have access to a laptop computer loaded with appropriate whiteboard software for board available at school (i.e. SMART Notebook if school has SMART boards or Active Inspire if school has Promethean boards). Instructors will be using a SMART board for the class.
In this course you will:
- Learn how interactive whiteboards provide an engaging methodology for students to analyze primary source documents
- Analyze primary and secondary sources to prepare for teaching with Common Core Standards
- Explore primary sources from the Library of Congress and the Vermont Historical Society
- Use primary sources to develop interactive whiteboard lessons for your classroom
- Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas, strategies and lessons
This course is appropriate for teachers and librarians at all grade levels. Space is limited.
