
Vermont History Journal
Vermont History publishes new research and scholarship in most aspects of Vermont state and local history. The journal also includes reviews of books on Vermont history. The full text of back issues of Vermont History since 2000 are now available online on this site six months after publication. Click on volume number to see table of contents for all issues published that year, use the "Search" box at the top of the screen to search for words within articles, or go to the library's online catalog to search by author, title or subject. Each article is stored as an individual PDF file, which requires Adobe Acrobat Reader or a compatible program for viewing.

Current issues
VHS members receive a subscription to Vermont History as a benefit of membership. Archives (other than the most recent year's publications) are kept online and in print in the VHS Research Library in Barre. To obtain current issues, please join the VHS as a member to subscribe to Vermont History.
Other Back Issues
Other back issues of the journal are available in libraries across the country, through the Interlibrary Loan service of your local library, and from the Vermont Historical Society museum store. Back issues are $4.00 (1950 to present) or $5.00 (1878-1949); not all issues are available for purchase.

Manuscript Submissions
The journal welcomes articles on a wide range of topics and on all time periods in Vermont's past. Whenever possible, articles should be based on heretofore unpublished documentary or other primary source material. Please review the submission guidelines before submitting your work.
